 TRANSPORTATION DESIGN PROJECTS

Transportation Design Student Gallery

Transportation design reflects the needs of the marketplace. While automobiles are important symbols of freedom and mobility, all too often fantasies of the open road are inhibited by the realities of human needs. The emphasis in design is now ensuring that beauty of surface and form doesn't compromise the designer's responsibility to create a complete and responsible product.

This is reflected in the growing sophistication of how students deal with combining form with function. Over the past five years, there has been an emerging consciousness and sense of responsibility for specialized forms of transportation that integrate style, safety, and functionality with the special needs of changing demographics of drivers and passengers as well as calls for mobility in congested urban environments.
