Spring Valley consists of a broad swath of neighborhoods to the southwest of Las Vegas. Originally developed on land that housed the Stardust International Raceway, this suburb has grown quickly since the 1970s. Despite the fact that Nevada has been one of the states hardest-hit by the housing downturn, Spring Valley includes some ritzy gated communities, private golf courses like the Spanish Trail Golf and Country Club, and a large park called the Desert Breeze.
