Japan's triple disaster continues to cause immense human suffering, with the death toll at more than 6,000, according to Kyodo News. At the same time, Japanese companies are tallying the losses and watching as stock prices plummet. The Nikkei 225, Japan's benchmark index, posted its biggest two-day drop since 1987, according to Bloomberg. The decline negatively affected markets around the globe. Many of the companies with the most assets in Japan are household names worldwide, from Toyota to Panasonic to NEC. Each of the 10 companies with the most assets in Japan experienced double-digit losses since Mar. 10.
