Cullman’s schools are among the best in the Alabama. The West Point Elementary School and West Elementary School were both named National Blue Ribbon Schools by the U.S. Education Dept. Incidentally, Cullman was dry until voters elected in 2010 to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages within city limits, reported the Cullman Times. Alcohol sales started in February 2011.
