Drew Brees

Power 100 rank*: 1

Sport: NFL/New Orleans Saints—QB
Age*: 33
Most recent notable achievement: Set NFL single-season passing record in 2011
Earnings*: $16,000,000

Why he’s on the list: Drew Brees crushed 27 years of NFL history with a new, monster passing record in 2011 (5,476 passing yards), just two seasons after he was named AP Male Athlete of the Year and won Super Bowl XLIV. Apart from record-breaking on-field performance—he’s the only quarterback to ever log two seasons with more than 5,000 yards—Brees is also a family man, photogenic, loved by marketers, and far more recognizable than second-place Aaron Rodgers.
