Sports Legends at Camden Yards

Baltimore

www.sportslegendsatcamdenyards.com

Although Baltimore's Sports Legends at Camden Yards celebrates a variety of sports, its baseball exhibits are especially impressive. Among them are tributes to Maryland natives -- and baseball legends -- Babe Ruth and Cal Ripken. In the Ruth collection are a scorecard from his first big-league game, in 1914, and a Louisville Slugger bat from 1927, the year he hit 60 homers. In the Ripken memorabilia are the four banners with the numerals 2131 that hung from the Camden Yards warehouse when he broke Lou Gehrig's consecutive-game record in 1995.

The museum is scheduled to open May 14.
