Located in the West Acres Mall in Fargo, the Roger Maris Museum salutes one of Fargo's greatest athletes -- and one of baseball's best hitters. In 1961, Maris hit 61 home runs, breaking the record set by fellow former Yankee Babe Ruth. Maris was the American League's MVP in 1960 and 1961, and he led the League in RBIs those same two years. Maris, who played in seven All-Star Games, was never elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
