Mind and Motion

Researchers at the Wadsworth Center in Albany, N.Y., recently trained four people to move cursors by using nothing more than their thoughts, which were relayed to the computer via special caps equipped with sensors that monitor brain waves through the skull and scalp. As the subjects have gained experience, their skills have grown. They can now type entire words, albeit slowly.
