Titan Landing Site

An image of Titan, relayed to Earth by instruments on the orbiting Cassini spacecraft, shows the landing site of the Huygens probe within the small circle on the boundary of the bright and dark areas. After being launched on its voyage to Saturn in 1997, the 5.82-ton Cassini spacecraft performed a series of planetary swingbys to gain velocity, flying twice by Venus in April, 1998 and June, 1999, once by Earth in August, 1999, and once by Jupiter in December, 2000.
