The Windows Home Concept creates a vision of the future for computing in the home, moving from productivity and traditional computing to embrace media, entertainment, and the flow of family life. The WHC Server is a home media server that acts as primary storage and connects to the large-screen display that serves as the main home communications portal. The Family Communication and Messaging Center is a wall-mounted touchscreen PC with a family dock, providing a central location for calendering, video notes between family members, voicemail and media capabilities. Color-coding differentiates content and activities between family members. The universal remote is built on a mobile phone platform. The Splash Pad charges devices—such as mobile phones and digital cameras—using inductive “splash” technology.
