Goodbye, Talk-Show Cues
Jim Biber of design firm Pentagram wanted to leave behind the talk-show cues of the old set and give the The Daily Show its own visual identity. As this early design rendering shows, he tossed the couch and brought in a conference table where the host can sit with guests. His goal: To make Jon Stewart the epicenter of the set. Meanwhile, Biber's colleague, Paula Sher, gave the show's graphics an overhaul, creating a streamlined look with none of the news tickers and spinning icons that clutter up the screens of CNN and Fox News.
