Undercover Table

1999

Californian designers Thom Faulders and Anna Rainer conceived the "Undercover Table" with local earthquakes in mind. Since tables are common refuges, the designers transformed the space beneath into a "survival station," filled with storage containers for soft items like extra bedding or slings, a full emergency kit to be released from the tabletop's underside, a top that converts into a stretcher. The featured product is a prototype.

Designers: Thom Faulders and Anna Rainer of Beige Design (USA)
