From Boxy to Beautiful
Architecture: Barratt
A few decades ago, Barratt had a reputation for designing cheap, boxy houses. Today, that has all changed. Britain's largest homebuilder has been scooping up architecture awards, thanks to its increasing investment in innovative designs. Martello Tower, a Barratt development in the East London area of Hackney, even counts a director of the Royal Institute of British Architecture as a recent owner. Barratt's stock is currently outperforming the FTSE100 by some 20%.
