Designers, Moss noted, are recognizing and even emphasizing the collaborative nature of the process. He pointed to the young Brazilians Fernando and Huberto Campana, who have made a series of chairs that reflect co-creation. The brothers "designed" their Favela chair, for example, but each one is assembled out of scraps of wood by a craftsman who is making aesthetic decisions that qualify as design. The trend extends beyond the world of industrial design to encompass blogging, hip-hop, and other cultural forms.
