Thierry Henry

$12.4 million

Annual salary plus bonus: $6.2 million
Other income: $6.2 million
Team: France

Arsenal's top goal scorer, Henry recently silenced speculation that he was pondering a move to Barcelona by re-signing with the English club. If only the Frenchman could demonstrate such loyalty toward his commercial partners. In 2004, Henry dumped computer-game maker Electronic Arts for Konami Computer Entertainment, which markets the popular Pro Evolution Football title. The 28-year-old has also been fickle in his choice of colas and sports shoes, switching from Coke to Pepsi and from Nike to Reebok (now part of Adidas) in recent years.

Corporate comparison: Sidney Taurel, chairman and chief executive of Eli Lilly, earned $12 million in salary, bonus, and other compensation last year.
