They were action figures that turned into cars and airplanes. What boy couldn't love that? Orginially developed by Japanese toymaker Takara Co., Transformers were a huge hit for Hasbro which created a comic book and animated television series around the product line. Next year, Transformers should see a huge revival when director Michael Bay's live-action movie morphs onto screens July 4th weekend.
