You no longer have to be an astronaut to make it space-you just have to be very, very rich. Since 2001, three tourists have visited the International Space Station for a ticket price of $20 million. With the sudden interest in space tourism, companies are now developing spacecraft that will someday make such galactic travels a possibility for the rest of us. Among the constructions on the drawing board are spaceports, spacecrafts, and a space hotel. These planned projects, together with a handful already in existence-the International Space Station and Burt Rutan's SpaceShipOne, for instance-prove that the final frontier won't be short of amazing projects.
