Vista Effect?
Sales of PCs like the Aspire 9810 notebook might get a boost from the launch of Microsoft's new Vista operating system, says Acer Chief Executive J.T. Wang. “We are optimistic because of the Vista effect,” he says. But his colleague, President Gianfranco Lanci, is more cautious about a big sales boost. “Many years ago, when Microsoft announced a new operating system, there were people queuing in the streets,” he says. “This time you will not see people queuing in the streets waiting for Vista.”
