No doubt about it, as far as auto industry insiders are concerned, green is in. Few have failed to notice how one successful model—the gas-electric Prius hybrid—helped to turn Toyota into one of the most powerful green brands on the planet.
Now automakers are toying and tinkering with new hyper-efficient designs, developing new technologies such as hydrogen fuel cells or conventional engines that sip fossil fuels at miserly rates. These cars, often revealed to the world as concepts, aim to increase fuel economy and reduce polluting emissions.
