Ancient Theater
The author at the theater at Sabratha. The building, which was rebuilt by Italian archaeologists in the early 20th century, ranks among the finest in the world. Sabratha may not be as large as Leptis Magna, but it has its own charms, including a rich trove of mosaics and a towering Phoenician tomb. It also receives fewer visitors—a blessing for those who do make the trek west of Tripoli.
