Goldwater Solar Services installs solar hot water heaters for consumers for free and bills only for the energy customers consume to heat their water, at a rate that is less than what they are currently paying for their traditional water heating source.
Since the contest, founder Aaron Goldwater has been working to build the capabilities in solar water heating for domestic hot water, space heating, and pool heating. Currently, Goldwater is in discussions with a number of investors, utilities, and other organizations to execute a pilot project that would install solar water heating systems free of charge, retain ownership of the system, and meter and bill only for the energy that the system provides. The energy bills would then act as a credit towards the system if the program participants chose to purchase it.
