As the capital and second-largest city in Turkey, Ankara is home to Parliament, the President’s residence, and many government offices and foreign embassies. Investors especially like its central location in Anatolia. The capital is rich in cultural treasures, including the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, the State Art & Sculpture Museum, the Ethnography Museum, and the War of Independence Museum. It’s also home to Anitkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, leader of the Turkish War of Independence and founder and first President of the Republic of Turkey.
Many foreigners buy in Ankara because of government and embassy jobs, but its real estate market isn’t quite as buoyant as other areas, with average annual returns of just 5%. The areas of greatest interest are Gaziosmanpasa and the modern section called Oran Yolu.
