The Best of FakeSteve

From MicroTards to the Clintstones, the most memorable musings from the tech world’s favorite impostor

The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs blog—an amazingly well-informed and frequently hilarious commentary on the people and ideas that mirror the life of the real Steve Jobs—is mainly read by devoted fans who would like to know: Who is FakeSteve? Of course, lawyers and others who have been on the receiving end of his witty, insightful barbs would also like to know.

What has been uncovered is that this Jobs is a pot-smoking, yoga-practicing egoist with a roster of famous friends, and some equally public passions, who just wants to instill a "sense of childlike wonder" in people’s lives. (He did invent the iPod, after all. Have you heard of it?)

Along the way there are trenchant observations about how Silicon Valley really works—and some spot-on nicknames for the high and mighty. The irony is that FakeSteve’s tone is so pitch-perfect that many people may find themselves blurring reality between the real Jobs and the imitation.

Read on for a sampling of FakeSteve’s musings. And as he writes: "Namaste."
