After participating in a pilot entrepreneurship program at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) business school in Mexico, Enrique Gómez Junco decided to become an entrepreneur. Today, his company, Optima Energía, sells an energy savings service that includes assessment, technical design, implementation, maintenance, and project financing. Over a 10-year period, customers pay for all upgrades from the savings produced by the technology. With over 70 projects (primarily hotels) and more than 120 consulting jobs completed to date, the company says it saves its clients more than $12 million per year in energy costs. Since being selected by Endeavor in 2005, Otimpa Energia has increased sales by 25%.
