These days, many designers work with sustainable materials such as bamboo or incorporate "waste" materials in their designs. Others focus on sourcing materials that will biodegrade or can be recycled at the end of a product’s lifetime. Richard Liddle’s patented technique combines both approaches in a single, repeatable process: Plastic bottles are melted and reformed into furniture—his first design being the RD4 ("roughly drawn") chair shown—which can itself be melted and reformed endlessly.
