Hammerin' Hank has had a successful second career as an entrepreneur with a chain of car dealerships, the Hank Aaron Automotive Group. He became one of the first blacks to own a BMW dealership, according to Black Enterprise magazine, and owned several other Georgia-based showrooms, although he recently sold all but one of the group.
Aaron's other venture, 755 Restaurant Corp., owns a chain of Church's and Popeye's Chicken franchises. And while Barry Bonds slugs his way toward Aaron's record of 755 career home runs, the Hammer still tops Bonds in other measures: His auto group took in $136 million last year. Compare that with the $16 million the San Francisco Giants are paying Bonds.
