The Inventor

Arogyaswami Paulraj

Co-founder, Beceem Communications

Many consider Paulraj, a Stanford University electrical engineering professor, the father of WiMAX. While not the only one to contribute to development of the technology, he succeeded in getting Intel to push it after his company, Iospan Wireless, was bought by the chipmaker. He also holds patents on key "smart" antenna technology that is considered essential to the success of WiMAX.
