More Hype Than Reality

In 2003, FedEx announced that it would soon begin replacing its 30,000 diesel delivery trucks with hybrids, a change that could save the atmosphere as much as 250,000 tons of emissions per year. Four years later, the company has deployed 93 of these vehicles—less than one-third of 1% of its fleet.
