Lindahl and Simmons are coauthors of The Student Success Manifesto and co-founders of a company that does motivational speaking engagements at colleges around the country. Speaking fees and event sponsorships from companies such as State Farm and Credit Suisse (CS) brought the pair revenues of around $100,000 in 2006.

Now:
While Extreme Entrepreneurship did 10 events in 2006, it plans to do about 30 by the end of this year. At one event, fellow BusinessWeek honoree Sumaya Kazi talked to students about the keys to her success. With demand up, the couple has hired about nine independent contractors and purchased a tour bus.
