Then:
2006 startup Alumwire grew out of a challenge the Sahagun brothers were facing in their own lives after graduating college: transitioning into the job market. Last year the social networking site had about 2,000 users in about 1,000 different schools, and partnerships were being negotiated.

Now:
Looking to complement and not compete with fast-growing social networking site Facebook, the Sahaguns added a feature that lets Alumwire users import information from their Facebook profiles. Aaron says revenues have grown steadily, thanks in large part to Alumwire's new technology platform, Virtual Career Fairs, which hosts online meet-and-greet sessions where recent graduates can interact with employers that pay Alumwire a fee to participate.
