Inspired by the flavored wallpaper in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Aziz developed and patented Peel 'n Taste™—soluble flavor strips for magazine and direct-mail advertising. By last year his company, First Flavor, had begun talks with several consumer products companies.
Now:
Rolling Stone readers discovered Aziz' mojito-flavored strips in one of the magazine's ads for a CBS (CBS) TV show called Cane in its September, 2006, issue. It was the first such ad created with the help of First Flavor, and Aziz says a "steady pipeline" of Peel 'n Taste™ placements replicating more flavors will follow in other print media and in-store ads. The company has grown from four employees to nine.
