BMW Concept CS

Auto show debut: Shanghai, China, April
What's different about it: Extremely low-slung, racy design

Based on its low-slung design, it would be easy to forget that the BMW Concept CS is a four-door, "gran turismo" car, instead of a sporty coupe. The interior has high-bolstered sport seats, even in the rear. No word from BMW on the powertrain, which makes the Concept CS strictly a design exercise for now. The fact that BMW unveiled it in China is also significant. The company expects to sell 150,000 cars in mainland China next year. That would be more than half the number of sales in the U.S., up from next to nothing in China five years ago.
