The Banyan Tree Resort in the UNESCO-protected town of Lijiang, China, by Singapore-based architect Ho Kwoncjan, incorporates indigenous Naxi architectural elements such as traditional courtyards, gates, and sloping tile roofs and combines them with contemporary glass and exposed steel.
