Cheaper than a Kia
Alienware's Mega DLP Monitor
With this massive, curved computer display, Dell's (DELL) Alienware continues to hone its rep as the de rigueur brand for hard-core PC gamers. This prototype contains four DLP projectors for a composite image at a resolution of 2880 x 990 pixels with a 0.02-millisecond response time. The curved shape helps keep moving images in the user's peripheral vision. Alienware representatives on the show floor told the popular consumer electronics blog Engadget.com that the price of the display, which should be on the market later this year, would be "more than a 17-inch flat panel and less than a Kia."
