Special Features: Students acquire general business skills in marketing, finance, strategy, and accounting, and then take specialized courses in food merchandising, global marketing strategy, and food industry management. They attend the Food Marketing Institute's Supermarket Industry Convention in Las Vegas, and they can also participate in the Food Marketing Fellows Program, which includes an annual international trip to study the business and marketing strategies of various food and consumer-products companies. Recent destinations have included the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Ireland; in 2009, they will be traveling to China.
Sample Internship: Brand management summer internship at S.C. Johnson: In addition to individual project work, interns are given the opportunity to become a team member on their assigned brand and play an active role in all aspects of the brand's activities.
