Gigi Lee Chang started making organic baby food at home for her first child, Cato, in 2004. She was already mulling leaving her marketing career when she found she couldn't buy the healthy organic food she wanted to give her son as he grew. "My husband joked, 'Well, if you really want to change careers, you could sell your baby food,'" Chang says. She did, starting her company in 2005 and moving production out of her kitchen.
Now, Plum Organics sells meals for babies and toddlers to retailers including Whole Foods (WFMI), Target (TGT), and Babies"R"Us. Chang expects 2008 revenue to approach $1 million.
