For most of June, Europe's top players will battle it out to see who has what it takes to win the European soccer championship

The UEFA European Soccer Championships are truly a global event. Watched by more than a billion people, the three-week tournament ranks behind only soccer's quadrennial World Cup and the summer Olympic Games as the most viewed sporting event in the world. The popularity of "Euro 2008" definitely will have something to do with the top-class soccer stars showing off their skills for their national teams. From Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo to France's Thierry Henry, the tournament taking place in Austria and Switzerland this year will provide a showcase for some of the world's most talented—and best paid—players.
