Peers: Allies or Enemies?

It's natural to be distrustful of your peers. Most of them are heading in the same direction you are, and some of them are ruthless and vicious. Bear in mind, however, that not every talented individual likes the spotlight, so most high-up managers have someone who acts as the power behind the throne. Making nice with these consiglieri, as D'Alessandro calls them, can do wonders for your career. What does not do wonders for your career is responding to rumor-mongering with counter-rumors, attacking rivals in a public forum, or having underlings do your dirty work.
