Toyota Plug-In Prius

When General Motors showed off its Chevy Volt plug-in hybrid concept car at the North American International Auto Show in January last year, it achieved a rare public-relations coup over Toyota. Toyota's response: a plug-in version of the Prius that is due in 2010. (The Volt is scheduled to appear in November that year.) Toyota says the plug-in Prius will use lithium batteries like the Volt. But the Prius will be geared initially only toward fleet customers.
