NTT DoCoMo
On July 1, 2008, Japanese wireless operator NTT DoCoMo (DCM) rolled out a symbol-free logo (top). The red color is meant to convey "energy and dynamism." But leading design and tech blogs skewered the new design, suggesting its rounded font and the lack of its previous characteristic elements make it generic and unmemorable.
