Indian Car of the Year Goes Global

The i10 mini is Hyundai's smallest car and is made in India, where it was picked this spring as the Indian Car of the Year. Hyundai executives stress that its new Chennai plant, launched last fall, is crucial in the company's global plans. By building the i10 at the plant, Hyundai became the first foreign carmaker to develop and produce a model in India for sale around the world. The company expects to export half of the 530,000 cars it will build in India this year.
