IT services company HCL Infosystems (HCLI.BO) is working with the Indian government to link seven Indian universities with hospitals, universities, and learning centers in 53 African countries. By connecting professors and students over the Web, the network will allow them to conduct lessons in real time. Medical staff at five remote regional health-care centers in Africa will also be able to connect to 17 Indian specialty hospitals to consult with specialists and train medical personnel.
