It's bad enough that many Americans are paying through the nose filling up their big SUVs and pickups, but now they are finding that these gas-guzzlers aren't even wanted at the dealership. In the past, drivers could count on getting attractive trade-ins values, especially for late model SUVs and trucks, because they were so much in demand. Of course, that's all changed, and dealers are having a hard enough time moving new vehicles, let alone used ones. As a result the trade-in values of SUVs like the Chevy Silverado and Ford Expedition have plummeted. Even worse, while there's a surplus of SUVs, there's a shortage of smaller, more fuel-efficient cars. So even if you're ready to trade-in for a new Chevy Cobalt or Ford Focus, be prepared to spend extra—if they're in stock.
Read on to find out which are the worst trade-ins.
