The Suburban is the original three-row SUV, a configuration that became popular when gasoline cost less per gallon than bottled water, as the saying went. However, most families rarely ever needed all that room to carry both people and cargo at the same time. Like other GM full-size trucks, the Suburban was redesigned for the 2007 model year, which also drove down the resale value for 2006 models. GM announced June 3 it will stop production at one of two plants that build the Suburban and related models.
