The decades-old Center for Creative Leadership routinely incorporates hands-on activities in its courses. But in July the nonprofit announced the launch of its first fully-experiential offering—a corporate sailing school to be jointly run with Fort Myers (Fla.)-based Offshore Sailing School. "Under pressure or stress, people tend to behave—unconsciously—ike they do back on the job," says Don Prince, group director for networks and affiliates at CCL. "So the group then gets to observe each other's behaviors and the impact of those behaviors." After the first day's supervised test run, teams of participants head back out to sea on their own, to put what they have learned from each other to the test.
