How Much Will Tata's Nano Cost?
Tata, part of the Indian conglomerate the Tata Group, says it is sticking to its timetable for the Nano. The car, a key project of chairman Ratan Tata, is supposed to be produced at factory in Bengal with sales to start in October. But suppliers are having difficulties meeting Tata's price targets, which means the company will probably need to subsidize the suppliers in order to meet Tata's one lakh ($2,500) price tag.
