Mikasa's new indoor volleyball is the result of a yearlong design process to make the ball both aerodynamic and eye-catching. The ball is made of eight, instead of the usual 18, microfiber panels, with the seams glued together, rather than being glued to the ball's "carcass." This improves players' control as more of the hand touches the ball's surface, which is smoother and rounder without any crater-like seams.
