Jimmy Wales co-founded the online encyclopedia Wikipedia along with Larry Sanger in 2001. Wales, who joined the Creative Commons' board in 2006, was one of the featured speakers at this year's conference. He addressed the hundreds of attendees via a live Internet videoconference feed from his home in California .
