Sales of the Lexus flagship are down sharply, despite adding the hybrid LS 600h last fall. The expensive hybrid is a slow seller. Even with the gasoline-electric hybrid drive, EPA-estimated mileage is still only 21 mpg in combined city/highway driving. That's only 2 mpg better than the conventional Lexus LS 460. Sales of the Lexus brand overall fell nearly 21%, to 260,087. Lexus truck sales were off nearly 16%, which is to be expected, considering overall industry truck sales, but Lexus cars were off even more, down more than 24%.
