Colorado Springs, Colo.
“I was always groomed to be an entrepreneur,” says T.C. Dantzler, who will be competing in Greco-Roman wrestling in Beijing. His dad owned an insurance agency, and when Dantzler was eight years old, “I had to get up on Saturday mornings and put on my dress shoes and little blazer and got to work with him and help him file things,” Dantzler says.
Dantzler started his background-check company, TC logiQ, in 2004, after the U.S. didn’t qualify for the Olympics in his weight class. Four years later, TC logiQ has 23 employees and $2 million in revenues, and Dantzler might even be a medal contender. Dantzler sees plenty of parallels between the two. On the mat, he says, “All eyes are on you.” In business, “My name is tied to the company. I want to lead my team to great things.”
